About the predicted line-ups

Points only come to players who play. These predicted line-ups show each club's most likely starting XI for the next gameweek, with every player's chance of starting, so you can avoid benchwarmers and spot rotation risks.

How it's worked out. We look at who started each club's last six matches in all competitions, with the most recent counting most. Premier League and European games count fully; early rounds of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup count less, because managers rotate for them. A player who started at least two of the last three gets a boost. Each chance is then reduced by his FPL fitness flag.

Where players stand. Players are placed in the shape their club used in its last main match, so a winger shows on the wing, not just "midfield". Where a regular is missing, the role goes to whoever has played there recently.

The pitch marks each player: a solid ring means 80% or more, amber 55 to 79%, and a dashed ring under 55%. Below each name is his projected FPL score. The side panel lists regulars who are missing and players pushing for a start.

Questions

How accurate is it?
It's good at spotting settled sides and clear injuries. It can't see press conferences, tactical changes or a manager's hunch, so treat anything under 80% as uncertain and check team news before the deadline.
Why does a new signing have a low chance?
He hasn't started recent matches yet. His chance rises as soon as he does.
How often does it update?
Every two hours, and after every match in any competition.
