About the top 100 tracker
The top 100 managers in FPL's overall league are, by definition, the people getting most right this season. This page shows what they own, who they captain and what they're buying and selling, so you can see where the best managers agree with the crowd and where they don't.
How it's built. Teams only become public once a gameweek's deadline has passed. On the first refresh after each deadline, we look up the current top 100 and their teams for that gameweek, and save totals only: no manager is named. Every week is kept, so the week-by-week view grows through the season.
The template team is the most-owned legal squad, shown on the pitch with each player's ownership and how often the top 100 start him. A manager playing the Free Hit counts with the team he keeps, not his one-week team, though his captain still counts.
Differentials and fading players compare the top 100 with everyone. A player the top 100 own far more than the crowd can gain them ground; one the crowd owns far more than the top 100 may be one they've decided to do without.
Questions
- Should I copy the template?
- Not blindly. The top 100 are good, but they're also partly lucky, and copying them makes you more like everyone near the top. Use it to spot a player you're missing, or a popular one you could do without.
- Why is the top 100 from this week, not the week the teams are from?
- The list is taken when the teams become public, just after the deadline, so it's the top 100 going into that gameweek.
- How do the chips work here?
- Each chip can be played once before the end of December and once after. "Still holding" counts managers who haven't played that chip in the current half of the season. It's context, not advice: the chip planner judges the best week for you.
